Abuelita (Coco)
Abuelita, also known as Elena Rivera, is a central character in the film Coco and serves as Miguel's grandmother and the enforcer of the Rivera family's ban on music. She is portrayed as a strict but loving figure who is deeply committed to protecting her family and upholding their traditions. Despite her initial opposition to Miguel's passion for music, she eventually comes to understand and appreciate the importance of music and its role in their family history, as seen when she tearfully realizes the error of her ways after Miguel's heartfelt performance. Abuelita is voiced by the late Renee Victor and plays a crucial role in the emotional journey of the film.
