Dorothy (The Wizard of Oz)

Dorothy Gale is the plucky, orphaned protagonist of L. Frank Baum’s 1900 novel The Wonderful Wizard of Oz and its famous 1939 film adaptation, where she is portrayed by Judy Garland. A cheerful and resourceful young girl living on a gray Kansas farm with her Aunt Em, Uncle Henry, and dog Toto, she is swept away by a cyclone to the magical Land of Oz.
