Annie Wilkes
Annie Wilkes is the primary antagonist in Stephen King's 1987 psychological horror novel Misery, portrayed as a deranged former nurse and obsessive fan of romance novelist Paul Sheldon. After rescuing him from a car accident in a remote Colorado blizzard, she holds him captive in her isolated farmhouse, forcing him to rewrite a novel to resurrect her beloved fictional character, Misery Chastain.
